When I was travelling in Egypt, I rode on a camel quite a few times and have say they are a very comfortable mode of travel - provided you remember to lean forward when going up hill ('up dune'?) and to lean back when going down!
My guide was a bit of a wag and told me that to correctly identify my camel I should lift the camel's tail and check the two numbers tattooed on its neither quarters. I cottoned on to his little joke and replied that I knew what it would be: 55.
(To understand this joke you need to know how 55 is written in Arabic. ;) )
