3 Godfathers, 1948..
directed by John Ford and filmed (although not set) primarily in Death Valley, California. The screenplay, written by Frank S. Nugent and Laurence Stallings, is based on the 1913 novelette The Three Godfathers by Peter B. Kyne. The story is something of a retelling of the story of the Three Wise Men in an American Western context.
This film was dedicated to John Ford's friend and early star, Harry Carey, who died in 1947. At the beginning, stuntman Cliff Lyons is shown silhouetted against a sunset, riding Carey's favorite horse, Sonny, over the words: "To the Memory of Harry Carey, bright star of the Western sky..."

In one scene at the beginning of the movie, a crocodile is shown swimming through the bayou. If you look closely at its snout, you can see tape, preventing it from opening its mouth.
Paulette Goddard did not actually come on board this project until more than three months after "Paramount" had announced its intention of remaking the 1927 film. Preceding Goddard as the film's prospective leading lady had been two of Bob Hope's recent co-stars, Martha Raye and Shirley Ross, respectively. Though the reasoning behind Raye's replacement by Ross was never made public, the rationale for "Paramount"'s final choice is no great mystery. A bigger star than either Ross or Raye, Goddard was snapped up by "Paramount" once she became available, owing to pre-production snafus with Charles Chaplin's "The Great Dictator (1940)."

Sea of Sand, 1958..
.. Guy Green's film is about a patrol of the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) during the North African Campaign in the Second World War. It was shot on location in the Kingdom of Libya. Michael Craig said "we drank far too much, slept far too little and misbehaved in every possible way." Filming began 12 May 1958. Guy Green said it was "a very good script" and although he had to struggle against "the penny pinching outfit" the film "came out well."

Death Wish 1, 2, and 3, couldn't make it to 4. I love these films, Winner was a genius!
