Mk.I Granada Coupe for me :eyebrows:
Attachment 9931
I had a few Mk2 2.8 Grannies and they were fine until some soot collected around the cylinder heads and they would then pink worse than Liberace's wardrobe because of the unleaded petrol  My last 2.8 was the "Ambassador" special edition with two-tone paintwork and all the trimmings, but even that pinked
The later model 2.9's went like shit off a shovel with no pinking at all :eyebrows:
I never had a problem with pinking on mine Frank as far as I can remember. I really lucked out with that car to be honest. I bought it in Kings Lynn from a builder having seen his ad in the the local rag. Because of his trade I very nearly didn't go and look at it. It just so happened that I was passing his address on my way back from work the following afternoon and noticed the car parked outside. It looked to be in cracking condition so I decided to stop for a closer look. It was mint inside and out (rare for a builders vehicle ) and at 350 quid taxed and MOT'd I just couldn't resist.
£795? I'd expect about eight of these for that kind of money. Another eBay chancer.

Nice one, Andr'e. Sometimes I miss my old Syncro.

Are people nuts?
A basic TD160 for £400.

Thorens 'TD160,Mk.I' always fetch good money but the intergrated lid hinge slots are nearly always broke, anyhoots that's just mad.
Quote - many say the pre-runner to the Linn LP12 or its being bid up..
Well I just bought a very clean TD160 Super Mk.II with ADC ALT1 arm and VMS 20E cartridge. For less than half this one's price and the Super has a Lexan lid not the old polystyrene type, which as you say breaks! The arm & cartridge are gone, so now the TT stands me in at about £100, not too bad!
I doubt the LP12 was based on the TD160, as both were released to the market in 1972. The earlier TD150 seems likely to have influenced the Linn design though.
I like these : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heybrook-Q...item2c6fbd4f47
... Not seen these before ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ion-System...item4173ff5f90
Worth a watch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Si...item46100e3f31
Far better than the equivalents from Pioneer or Sony et al.
Nice condition... Stupidly high p&p price though http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NAD-140-ST...item257ecfbf2c
Got me the 1200B at not a bad price - the first one went for £243 IIRC - more snipers than a Bosnian marketplace.

I'm well pleased wanted one of these for about 20 years - just for the look really I've never heard one. So thanks for the heads-up, Paul. :)
No probs Martin - the other two look like they're heading to France so I was glad to see one staying on home soil. I hope you put yours to good use (remember you'll need to watch an HSE vid on safe lifting techniques as they're surprisingly weighty... LOL)
best wishes
Nice one, Martin. They do look the biz and I hope it sounds as good as it looks.
Either it will sound dire or it will sound brilliant but the laser will die on me after 10 minutes :) It still has to survive the courier of course. But, all part of the fun and it will be an itch scratched.
It'll look good next to the SL-1200 :)
Mordaunt Short Pageant II. Most expensive I've seen so far!

Silver Bass unit baskets aswell at that :(
£50 is the very very top limit for a minty pair IMO. I found they sucked me in, I thought they sounded great [I still think they are alright] but once you move on to something else... Anything else [except maybe Ditton 15's dare I say it ] you may find they sound dull as dishwater, wooly and indistinct.
You can easily pick up Goodmans Magnum K for under £70 which are IMO/IME better in every department as long as you listen relatively "on axis" due to the cone tweeter. I wish I kept mine
Don't know if they are any relation to the one's Geoff posted a while back but they seem cheap enough...

These need a good home and the mods look interesting. I've been after a pair for a while, but too far for me and collection only.
