The thing to remember with VFET Sony amps is that while they sound superb, they can be a bit fragile and there are no VFET replacements.
A safer bet is the '01 series Trio amps. They sound great too.
For all the people who {evidently} ignore my Castle Acoustics links you absolutely mad!
Never ignored it Andre; in fact I saw it yesterday on bay I think but it is pickup only. Nice speaks though plus stands.....one of the drawbacks of living in Scotia:lol:

I'm guessing many have never heard a pair used with quality amplification that compliments them Andr'e... Old pair of Durhams I had sounded pish on some very well respected SS amps and yet when connected to a decent EL34 amp they produced one of the finest sound's I've ever achieved [well, for acoustic type music anyway!]Quote:
