French sci-fi fantasy, with 'cheesy' special effects (it was made long before the development of CGI), but some of the ideas are interesting. Anyway worth watching if only for Jane Fonda's zero-g striptease.

Baz Luhrmann's lavish and totally OTT production values almost ruins the film. The music is completely out of place and anachronistic. The CGI looks false and obvious, and the swooping tracking shots almost induce motion sickness. The film lacks the sublety of the far, far better version starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.
Needless to say I was disappointed - it'll be going to the charity shop tomorrow, whilst I keep the Redford/Farrow version:

Star Trek: 'Beyond'
Like a bit of trek me but this one isn't as good as the previous two. It's funny that a lot of films from the fifties through to the seventies suffer from the pacing being just too slow whereas now the pacing is too fast and there's no time to get into the characters. The new Star Wars films have the same problem.
Still worth a watch though, has a few good moments.
