The final episode had them back on Earth looking for the story's author (Grant / Naylor); having realised that their existence depended wholly on being written about. They couldn't find the author but found out that they could write the future for themselves. I think it ends with Lister talking to camera with words to the effect of: "Thanks, but goodbye - we don't need you now".Quote:

They were on cable a few years back now, I watched them all again then. Well most of them. Got a bit patchy after the third series.
Remember watching "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" on a Thursday evening (I think) with my dad, when my mum and sister used to go to lace making classes... If I recall correctly (unlikely!) Thursday evening telly back then also included Top of The Pops and Blakes 7.
TOTP was Thursday. 'Monkey' was Friday. And 'The Water Margin' too. 'Blakes Seven' I don't remember what day that was but it was on the one night everyone else was out the house and I could watch it in peace.
Blakes 7 was a monday about 7.30 or so I think. The sets were terrible, some of the acting awful.. Great series tho. Watched it regularly

Just back from Aladdin at the cinema with the family - the live-action remake. Was pretty good, and nice to see a couple of relatively unknown actors taking the leading roles of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. As you’d expect, Will Smith as the Genie was great. Wouldn’t have been my choice of film but we all enjoyed it. :)
