Alex has sent me a few emails confirming that he loves 'em (they look beter than my BC2's - grrrrr!)
Driver integration is better on the SP1's so absolute speaker height won't be as critical as on mine either..
Crossover mods - don't even go there - Spendor selected the caps individually and matched these to the drivers. There's not an electrolytic in sight on any of 'em, the transformer style inductors will only overload after the driver bottoms out and Spendor had beefed up the internal wiring by then from memory.
Enjoy them as they are Alex and if you want an even better sound, change 'em for some new Harbeths, since it's obvious the room likes this particular style of music reproduction... :)

You know, I think Celestion may have done the same with the 66s... As you know, they were very well received at the Scalford Hall show, and quite simply sound SUPERB.Quote:

I just can't hear much, if anything, wrong with the crossovers, and so despite recommendations to the contrary, I'm inclined to leave them 'as is'.
However, I'll make a final decision on that when I've had a look inside, and also shown what's in there to Anthony, who'll be able to test the components fitted.
