I have 'Blow by Blow' and 'Guitar Shop', but like you I rarely play them.
I think Surfer Rosa is an album for the afternoon or evening, 9.30am would be a bit too challenging for me  Fabulous album though, and hard to think it's 37 years old!

the jon spencer Blues Explosion - Orange
A great recording :)
I have played the album many times in the past 45 years since it was released (gulp!) but not watched the film for a very long time, will have to see if I can stream it or if I have to dig through the DVDs in the loft!

Just been googling as you do, on who played the sax on this album - awesome on several tracks but especially "Will You?" - it was a chap called Wesley Magoogan (great name!) Seems he played with some other greats, but it ended badly...
"Cruelly, after he later played with the Beat and Joan Armatrading, Magoogan’s magic fingers were injured in an accident with a circular saw, a harsh fate for someone whose most famous moment moved people around the world to tears." Apparently, chopped off all the fingers on one hand!
...And of course Hazel herself is still recovering from a brain hemorrhage in 2022...
