We're still waiting to hear his impressions of the LDR pre! :D
No doubt it's in the pipeline - ask again in about a year's time.
PS My partner is badgering me to go and see the film again - it's that good. :)

Vintage Tech Hunters on History, like American Pickers except with old electronics. They bought a Seeburg jukebox for $5k and the amp's f**cked.
Do they have a 'skanky-but-hot' assistant like in American Pickers?
The fairly recent restored print of
The Third Man 1949.Harry Lime (Orson Welles) and Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) star with Trevor Howard.

Bridge of spies was quite well done if inaccurate.
Now, Once Upon A Time In The West (1968)
Simply the best film. Period

Same - not anywhere near up to his usual standards, in the likes of Taboo or Peaky Blinders! Don't think that sort of role suited him at all. He needs something darker...
The action scenes were ok though, and sounded pretty good through the home-cinema system:)
Marco.
Yes, The Revenant was fantastic.
I do agree, although I think it's more about him having the *right* role, whether that's on a leading or support basis. I'd like to see him do a gangster film, or play some other violent/brutal role, possibly even in a war film, as for me his naturally menacing and brooding demeanour would be perfect!
Overall, for me, he suits the role of being a 'baddy', much more than that of a 'goody, or neutral one. So yes, he needs to be given something darker and more hard-hitting.
Marco.
Watched Hereditary last night... Pretty creepy.
Anyone here seen it?

When are we going to hear of your thoughts about Amazing Grace?
I presume from your lack of reply you didn't like it.
Lol - I loved it, and have already said so elsewhere! Just not big on film reviews...
Some of the performances were mesmerising, although on set, AF herself seemed somewhat 'dispassionate', until that is she started singing... I see what you meant about the 'patchy' quality of the production, due the old equipment used, but for me that just added to the charm:)
We'll be planning on going to see more of these 'arthouse' movies in future.
Marco.
No problem, it was only briefly on the food thread, where I outlined the whole day Del and I spent in Liverpool, including the superb lunch we had in Chinatown:)
Marco.
Something darker your say...?

Have you seen that bronson lookalike and by lookalike I mean spitting image. He goes by that name of bronso / bronzo.
He's not the best at acting but seems to be cashing in on his obvious similarity. It's uncanny.. Look him up for a laugh

Metal at the BBC - BBC Four. I swear if I was only allowed one TV channel for the rest of my life it would be BBC Four - well worth the license fee alone.
Watching the Mist TV series on Netflix. Similar but different to the movie. Not sure where I am on this yet. It was cancelled so there won't be any more of it. Its very dark.
Just watching 'The Cruel Sea' on BBC 2, not seen it for years. Typical WW2 heroics, the officers are all a bit stiff upper lip and 'jolly decent chaps', whereas the non-commissioned ranks are all portrayed as oiks. The 'special effects' look like sparklers and the occasional cardboard ships none too convincing.
Grand Budapest Hotel 2014.

Picked up the first eight series of 'Red Dwarf' at a boot sale. I'm not a 'boxed set binger' but it will take me while to work my way through them. :)
