You can have too much choice. And I like to have the original mastering if possible. I use Youtube to check out if something is worth getting or not. In the case of music from the last 20 years, usually not.
I check out reccos that you see on the forums, I have a challenge where before I listen I have to guess how many seconds I'll be able to stand it for before I have to kill it.
My favourites are the ones where they start really slow and dirge-like, and goes on for a while like that, so I skip a couple of minutes in to see if it picks up to some sort of tune, but they just never do, just the same thing all the way through.
from a quick count up I reckon I've bought about 150 CDs in the last three years. Still quite a few I need to get. Doobies, Creedence, Earth, Wind And Fire. Proper music! :D
sure for me anyway there is an awful lot of stuff i dont like, but others do(poor sods) but there are good new music around..
not much but some;)
How is the topping vs the Soncoz Macca? Measurements seem to suggest an inaudible difference?
That's a tough one. Nothing but instinct tells me there is some sort of difference. That the Topping seems slightly more 'open'. I don't think I could pick between them blind though so if there really is a difference it's very small.
I try all the 6 filters, they all sound identical to me.
System looking great Martin. Are you still looking for a power amp?
Cheers little bargain that topping is,think I’ll get one.
I really can't fault it. Can see how it might be a bit too explicit in some systems though, or for some tastes. There's no sugar coating, it all sounds very 'studio'.
