And yet here you are... :ner: I had a feeling conker season would be earlier this year, due to the extra warm summer we've had (blackberries, falling leaves, mince pies in the shops already) :rolleyes:

I've a super-busy week coming up, but next weekend I should get onto it - best conker trees in Preston are across the river from 'The Continental', a really nice pub on the edge of Avenham park with a huge beer garden and good food served. Would be a good opportunity, weather permitting.

Chiropodist is coming round at 9am tomorrow to 'pamper' Anita's feet, and she wants the woman to do mine too, to make her feel less guilty about the expense probably.

Having suffered the treatment a few weeks ago, I'm not keen. So I'm going to get up ahead of it and bugger off to a car boot on me bike before she gets here. I'm going to try a 'posh' car boot the other side of Preston, see what they have there.

Is Viz magazine still going? I used to love reading about the two "Fat Slags", and about some guy with enormous genitals; so large, he had to use a wheel barrow to support them when moving about. :lol:

I assume it is, but I really don't know. Must be 20 years since I last bought it.

There's a 'Fat Slags' feature film came out some years ago now, but I've not seen it.

I liked Biffa Bacon and Terry Fuckwit.

I used to get Private Eye to read on the train, but then I stopped using the train. Also I thought it had started becoming politically partisan, which made it a lot less amusing. If I wanted that I could get the Socialist Worker for free - which is arguably just as amusing anyway.

Sad to learn of the death of Robert Redford today age 89.

Film actor, director and producer, as well as environmental activist, Redford left a large legacy of work.
He worked with some of the most famous names in Hollywood.

It's hard for me to choose a favourite film, as he made so many I enjoyed, but if pressed it would be any one of: 'All the President's Men'; 'Butch Cassedy and the Sundance Kid; 'The Horse Wisperer' and '3 Days of The Condor'.
