What I used to wear at school when in the gym were called plymsoles or tennis shoes.
Now, when I want to wear something informal, I wear deck shoes. I wear the same when flying, and if I intend to do some trekking, I will then wear walking boots.
It seems to me that trainers are an exercise in making a soft shoe using as many pieces of material as possible and to charge an absurd amount of money for their efforts. :lol:
