Yes of course Gary's was joking - just as I was with my reply. ;)

About as abstract as chat gets on this forum:
Went out this morning to look at a kitchen waste pipe that was leaking - not my thing, I don't do plumbing, so I wasn't about to replace any pipework. So I went off to the plumbers' merchants to get some "Denso" tape. Anyone who has ever used it knows how horrible and messy it is. But the merchant said they don't use it any more, the plumbers go for this instead:

It works! non messy, and fixed the leak immediately. Will withstand up to 8 bar pressure and with a temperature range of -65 to 260C. I know it's not something at the top of anyone's shopping list, but if you ever get a leaking pipe or hose, get yourself a roll of this stuff. Well impressed :)
It calls itself "emergency repair tape", but I just know she's going to live with it rather than get a plumber out.
It will also withstand 8,000 volts, though I'm not sure you should mix electricity with water!
But joking aside, it looks to be a useful product.
Thanks for the heads up.
Another morning on yard clear up. Nearly there now.
Decided to pack it in for the day when sweat was rolling down my face. And I have that Prince Andrew thing where I don't sweat!
Finally finished clearing the yard. Talk about Herculean tasks. Been hours and hours of work.
Needs a new back gate but that can wait for another day.
Would your "Herculean task" be on a par with his cleaning of the Augean stables? :D
So you had to divert the Trent through your back yard.
And now for something completely different:
I was buying some carrots in our local greengrocer and always choose large samples. One that I chose was particularly long (11" or 27.5cm). The lass on the till asked if it might be a contender for the Guinness Book of Records.
I said I would look it up on the Web, but didn't think it would be candidate. Not by a long shot - would you believe the record for the longest carrot is 19 foot?!!!!
