Why did you bid for them if you think them "shit"?

You just can't help yourself can you Dan
For £12 they might turn out fairly decent.
Hi Alan
They cant be that good i won them :D i thought they were worth a good not sure of size going by the pictures....
We shall see  they have already been posted....
Whilst I have had very good experience with Teleton amplifiers, never tried their speakers, may be fine, be interested to lean how they are.
Must have been around 1971 or so I bought a Teleton STC106 Stereo cassette deck. No Dolby on it. Very well made and worked fine to many years before I gave it to a friend, was also made by Mitsubishi.
This was recorded on it in my bedroom in the early 70's, a friend playing my guitar. It has had a few transfers, so quality is reduced from original.

This shows the Mitsubishi link with the Teleton name. http://www.nvhr.nl/gfgf/schema.asp?M...sSubmitted=yes

I sold my 'as new' Heresy's for not a great deal more than that... what is wrong with Emporium Hifi as they always seem to be overpriced to me..?
Well they are early alnico versions, which I suppose makes them desirable.
The cabinets look solid enough. I reckon I could have those looking near enough new easily enough. But then I don't mind taking on that sort of restoration. Others might balk! :)
I assume it's like a second hand car dealer where they have found out that most of their punters will want a bit off the asking price as a matter of course. So gives them some room to haggle and still make money.
Or they paid too much for it in the first place and have to overprice it to make anything on it.
Hi Alex & Geoff
No pictures yet guys ive already got in one to check the bass unit surrounds for rot and their fine photos will be uploaded in due course with a thread on my findings.
In the meantime ive just won this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1621772827...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
:eyebrows: its in the 1977 yearbook but its price on application :steam: notice the seller is the same guy i bought the teleton from....good buys for budget kit.
Just playing Fleetwood Mac - Rumors through the teleton amplifier & speakers & Cambridge CD 34 im amazed at the sound very nice system for the money......
I always liked Teleton stuff, only one item I came across that was not so good, the Teleton GT 202 tuner, cosmetically matched the SAQ206 etc. made nicely, worked fine, apart from too hissy on FM Stereo, despite a good aerial input. I tried several samples, shame.

The Teleton CR10T was a very budget tuner amplifier, remembering hearing this sound pretty good for what it was.
Test on Teleton GA202 and others:

Are they mad? £265 for a budget Panasonic turntable?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panasonic-...p2047675.l2557
Why? Just because it's got a bit of woodgrain vinyl wrap on it? A few years ago this would have been £10 boot sale fodder. I'd sooner have a PL-12D.
Something from the 'list of things you would never believe were ever manufactured' ... truly for the audioophile who has everything:

Are these Tannoy's any good ?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1220911513...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Those look in decent condition for a seventies speaker. The Devons are liked by many. They use the respected HPD 315A driver, as is also used in the Mk.I Cheviot. They are a proper dual concentric monitor driver, based on the Monitor Gold. The crossovers would no doubt benefit from a service by Paul (RFC), unless they have been looked at recently.
Thanks Geoff.. I will give them some thought...
Any idea what they are really worth ?
At the moment, I guess asking prices can be up to maybe £750, with a realistic selling price of perhaps £500 to £550 depending on condition. They tend to fetch about 15/20% or so less than the bigger Cheviot.
Thanks for the info Geoff, much appreciated... :)
I bought a pair about 4 years ago, had new foam surrounds fitted, cabinets were very tatty, one completely split along one joint.
Great drive units, good sound for compact size, however the units will benefit having a larger cabinet.
Think I got a good deal at £400.
Have repaired the split cabinet, but cabinets need refinishing, possibly re-veneering.
Great thanks Alex.. ;)
aren't these kens old 66's ?

Big, active JBL Array. Very tempting
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JBL-Pro-37...8AAOSwawpXuJEK
Tempting if you've got the money it's likely to go for. Don't reckon it'll be cheap. Should sound interesting though.
No bids on them so far.
Lots of crossover pitfalls there. Also need a big high ceiling room. Might not go for much
Never heard of it lol. Need a van..big van plus 2 burly lifters
Thought I recognised the name, but had to look it up

I've seen everything now - a Sugden Connoisseur idler (which cost about 3s 4d back in the - mono - day, tiny motor and far, far short of Garrard 301 performance), bit of chipboard and hammerite, that'll be 800 smackers please. Just becase it was allegedly used 'at the BBC'.
Not the worst motor unit in the world, but - no tonearm, cheesy plinth, platter scraping and sold as 'needing a refurb' (good luck getting any parts) ... worth about £75 maybe?

How many times can he say BBC. Joke !!
