Yes, Jim Carrey should stick to comedy

We have two desktop computers next to each other in our "office". I'm on the Mac trying to, er, work  and my son's just fired up the PC next to me to watch Transformers 3 (with headphones on, but . . . how's a chap supposed to work with that as a distraction?)
I may just have to watch it myself :eyebrows: .
Oh, bingo!
I see I'm ageing quicker on AoS than in real life, just becoming a senior citizen. What's next, a bus pass? :lolsign:
and I went past 200 without even noticing
Well congrats too Roy, on your double-century. :) Good to see some new faces "getting stuck in" and becoming part of the furniture. :)
...although most of it's in 'three words' (think I've found my level)
Watching a bit of Avatar on blu ray spinning in the new Oppo BD95 :)
Need to probably re-calibrate the TV to match in with the player, maybe it's ok though.
If I had known how incredible the picture was going to look I'd have bought one of these just for the picture upgrade :stalks:
Time to see what it's going to do with a DVD me thinks ;)
Ah, at last :eyebrows: Tiesto - The Elements Of Life on blu ray & with the full fat DTS-MA audio in 5.1 surround :eyebrows:
Pity I only have the TV on as it really should be spat out by the PJ ;)
Didn't stop me turning up the volume though! :wow: I have a feeling it's going to keep on going up to
E2A: Over to the projector :eyebrows:
The Green Lantern in Blueray:)
Natalie;)
Just watched The Hangover Part II . . . not good. The first film was mildly amusing, but making a sequel didn't work IMO. I'm not sure why I watched it really
I don't know Horrible Bosses, will have to look that one up. I did watch Contagion last night, which I have to say I enjoyed. Bit of an Outbreak remake, which was to be honest a much better film, but nonetheless I did enjoy Contagion..... but then Kate Winslet is in it :)
EDIT: Horrible Bosses....... I think we have very different tastes in movies Natalie!
The Warrior. Considering the cast, a wonderful and considered movie...
The Chronicles Of Riddick :D on blu ray...
A bit of action, a gobsmaking picture & now DTS-MA that really kicks some backsides.
Damn I love this Oppo player :rfl:
See you all tomorrow, this is just demanding my attention
I like Chronicles, but it's not quite up to the superb Pitch Black. The crash landing sequence alone is extremely well done.
2 of my favourite Sci Fi movies! :) Vin Diesel is somewhat better than he is in the Fast and Furious series.
I only have them on DVD. I'll have to think about Blu rays as replacements if they are good.
Well there is always this evening, nothing like working backwards :mental:
Bernie, the picture quality will stun you, they really are great transfers! Second up you get an extra 18 minutes (I think it's 18 at any rate) on the Chronicles BD which are not on the DVD. It makes the whole thing make more sense ;)
They go fairly cheap now on ebay :eyebrows:
Yep...
Transambient 2
Music & video in one.... Very nice to
The Art Of Noise - Into Vision :)
Stuff MTV :eyebrows:
Aye the region/zone thing is a bitch :(
Not for me though ;) Just get a region & zone free player & the world is your oyster :)
Bring on anything  Like those dirt cheap BDs I mentioned previously :eyebrows:
Aye, DVDs so region encoded & not zone encoded...
Instead of 3 there are 6 regions rather than 3 zones
Makes no difference though at the end of the day :)
They all play here
You got it :) I hate being denied anything just because those up top say so & I have to buy it later & probably at an inflated price
Rip off Britain, we have all heard of it & it does exist unfortunately
That extra £100 investment would have got you total immunity to it, I reckon that would already be 50 BDs in my collection that are zone A locked ;) Maybe more, I just can't be arsed to look :eyebrows:
Blu rays have a bit of a weird smell about them  Plastic fantastic :rfl: Barbie doll or something freaky but stiff plastic :)
Anyway I'm off to get well & truly mullered & absorb this BD once again, DTS MA selected & rocking the house Attachment 5793
That 5.1 thing I have been after in superb quality, Tiesto - Live In Copenhagen - Elements Of Life... Quite loud to, no point in it otherwise...
Prefer my dark ambient stuff but this is absolutely superb as an audio & video BD
Once again , see you all tomorrow
Blu rays have a bit of a weird smell about them  Plastic fantastic :rfl: Barbie doll or something freaky but stiff plastic :
Are feeling ok mark?..the smell from the blurays not to stong for you?:D
jon
No, I'd had a skinful by then don't forget
:D
No, but I do blather on when I have had some :rfl:
Blu rays do stink when first opened, never noticed it with DVDs, but it is probably the case that smells :eyebrows:
:lolsign: :ner:
:eyebrows:
Pop goes the weasel
Something just keeps on dragging me back to this documentary...
First spin on the Oppo & on the big screen :)
See you all tomorrow
Hmmm, not sure if I'm watching this or listening to it :rfl:
As this thread gets less traffic though I'm watching it :ner:
Moby - Play (DVD)
Track one is funny as f*ck with all these different guys attempting to dance :rfl:
Must add though that some of the videos are absolutely awesome, Porcelain is in that category ;)
As an afternote the Oppo BD95 is doing the best job I have ever seen of upscaling this video :)
E2A:-OMG, Porcelain was incredible, the rest of them wouldn't put a 1080P TV to shame either via the Oppo player :rfl:
Next up The Art Of Noise :D
The Art Of Noise - Into Vision
Once I realised the Moby DVD was only encoded in stereo I hit the balanced outputs of the player....OMG :eyebrows:
This one is stereo & 5.1 ;)
