Just bought this for a bit of fun. Seventies Cambridge P60. Looks mint in all the the photos and has original box plus manual. One British classic I never got around to owning. Now I'll have to sort some DIN interconnects.

Good luck on the DIN plugs! I just rummaged in my bag of wire (Monster Cable 1980s, anyone?) but I must have given my DIN wires away. Even have long phonos Massive Attack used via a Betamax to digital record!
I think I may have some tucked away. Not needed any for about twenty years. :)
I have a P50 with matching T55 tuner. Both have the brushed satin silver finish to them, but I think the black finish looks better; especially with the silver knobs and switches.Quote:

Blimey. Got the P60 wired to the speakers about fifteen minutes ago. This is a good sounding amp and as with the headphones earlier, it's opening up as it warms. Bass is there, even and clear mid and a very clean top end. Bit of a bargain. :)

Cambridge P60 in its new home. Driving the Corellis at the moment and seems very well matched to them. It's very good on vocals, clean and free of grain. Certainly transparent too. Channel separation seems very pronounced.

The i6 AW model. Horrible 'all weather' (hence the 'AW') plastic enclosures that impart some dreadful colourations. But inside, should be a pair of the 1678 drivers and crossovers, as employed in the System 600 cabinets. Very sweet sounding things. Like these:

I'll need to rehouse them in some decent boxes. It's the third pair of i6 speakers I've had. I just hope these don't have the alternative ICT drivers in, but I doubt they have.

look very similar. drivers alone as spares will be worth a fair bit. wonder if seller ever had fronts off
If I recall, the grilles are hard to remove. Probably in order to keep the speakers hard wearing in demanding situations.Quote:

i would lose 3 tt's. a tonearm,; a couple of carts and a pre or 2. maybe a cd player too. oh and an integrated to start with and see how you feel with the cash.;)
I'd shift the 'jitter busters' and the valve buffer on. Keep all the hi-fi equipment though :D
What's the deal with your Mitsubishi Diatone speakers? Never seen you mention them before.
One of the jitter busters and the valve buffer are integral parts of the system and in use. They make a noticeable improvement.Quote:

Mitsubishi made some great stuff back in the day, shame it is so rare over here. Is the Diatone brand still going? I've seen pictures of their big speakers and they look the business. Never heard any though.
