I quite like them all, the Revels were easily the best though, even better than the Martin Logans which are way too fussy about music type, placement and room condition. Still, the MLs are very very special if you get them spot on.

The Elacs are truly special, a very open window and completely neutral in every way.

What is the 'RCL small loudspeaker' ? I recognise the others mentioned above.

It was a weeny speaker designed by SEAS, the speaker driver company - some people liked to compare them to LS3/5a's but they go much louder than those!

I know the little speaker you are talking about, can't remember the model, but I've still got a pair of the crossovers and tweeters! Could make an interesting project.


My nominations for favourite speakers I no longer own are: Mission 780SE (1st model) and Tannoy Eaton (I've had five pairs).

I loved my old Cambridge R40 transmission lines.

Roksan k2 tr5 < 1st taste of what a decent speaker was capable of.

Usher cp-6311 < bettered the Roksans in every way, the gateway and into the Usher family, amazing natural, unforced and musical sounding, I loved these.

I've only ever owned five pairs of speakers (and still use two of them).

The most enjoyable are those two: Audiovector Mi3 Signature and Harbeth P3ESR. The Goodmans RB35s were fun till one of the bass units failed, and the Mordaunt-Short 20s were a reliable stand-by pair for about 25 years. The only ones I have less than fond memories of are the Castle Chesters, but this was probably a room/speaker mismatch rather than any failing in the speakers themselves.
