Lol - it seems that I have, although perhaps somewhat indirectly!

What 'does it for me' with these types of vintage speakers, and the Celestions we've been discussing, is the quality engineering from the ground up, with everything built-in house, from the cabinets to the crossovers and (superb quality) drive units, the all-British manufacturing, BBC pedigree, the fine-tuning by ear (not bloody computers) by people who knew how music was supposed to sound, and finally the sexy retro looks!

Sadly, much of that is gone now in today's loudspeaker design and manufacturing, certainly in the UK, so in that respect I'm wiv ya - let's all go back to living in 1973! :peace:

Hopefully Marco you will get a chance to hear the pair of LS5/8 with BBC Quad amps that I believe will be there at the weekend. I heard them at the NVA organized show, and was gobsmacked just how good it all was.

Not mega old but what about a pair of Monitor Audio 'R152' ?..Even Tannoy were it it with the 'T185'/'T225', Goodmans with the 'Achromat: Sigma'...I'm trying to remember back with Castle Acoustics, i think it was the 'Dover' that was an ABR model??.. Celeste did a later version of your '15XR' the 'SP15' (can't find a pic of these or the Castle 'Dover')
