To bring things back to the crashingly mundane, my beloved Range Rover is not very well and the repair bill is more than I am prepared to pay. Thus it will be going very soon and to replace it I have joined the Mercedes club, courtesy of a 2003 E-Class estate, which I have always fancied, but which a mate of mine took one look at and laughingly referred to as "a bl**dy hearse". (It's dark blue, actually, not black!)
As to engine size, dont ask. It has a supercharger but this is less to do with shredding tyres even faster and more to do with making sure it actually goes up hills...

Just replaced the rear tyres on the Brabster (previously Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 3s), as they were wearing down to the legal limit, with the top new sports performance tyre from Michelin, the Pilot Sport 4s, details here: https://www.kwik-fit.com/blog/introd...pilot-sport-4s
...and WOW, what a tyre! It's certainly not cheap (£250 each for the size I need), but the road holding/grip and control on cornering, especially in the wet, really is something else - and they're amazingly quiet, too (at high speeds it almost feels like you're floating on air)! :eek::)
Justers (or anyone else with a performance rear wheel-driven car) really need to try this tyre, as it's a veritable game changer!!

They are supposed to be good, but are not suitable for my car.
Too hard and at too big diameter wise. They seem to be available in 19”, 20” and 21”.
In fact Michelin don’t make any tyres suitable my toy car.

Went on a run just outside Chester last night, when the roads were quiet.
It wasn't raining, but the roads were damp, and with any tyres I've used before, I used to get a fair bit of wheel spin, if I accelerated hard from a standing start in damp/wet conditions (as the torque/power on the rears is substantial), but nothing whatsoever with these Michelin - just oodles of grip, allowing the car to accelerate freely and power forward through the gears, whilst staying in full control, going hard round corners, and up to some scary speeds on the straights! :eyebrows:

Do you give new tyres a few miles to break in Marco? If find they can be slippy until the surface has been abraded a bit.
