I remember back in the 80s being impressed by my brother solving his Rubik's cube. Till I realised he'd peeled off the tiles and re-glued them. Then I was really impressed.
I also find puzzles tedious. Got enough real problems to solve without tackling additional pointless ones.
They want to do an 'Escape Room' thing at work as a team building exercise. Solving problems together.
Which is what we do anyway, day in day out...told them I would just show up for the curry afterwards. Don't think I will get away with that though.
Our lads have done escape rooms and enjoy them. Don't have the curry before!Quote:

I would say so - the ability to climb walls in the event of a fire is something worth learning. Though really it shouldn't take four hours to learn not to point the fire extinguisher at your own face.Quote:

It was beyond awful. I mean just sitting there being bored is one thing, and I was mentally prepared for that, but when I hear 'Now I'm going to divide you into teams' the full horror of what was ahead began to sink in.
Thankfully the cetification lasts 3 years as there is no way on god's green earth you would get me back into that again. You can shoot me, stab me, I don't care.
At my last place it was totally different - a bloke came out, gave the 'Fire is bad' speech, showed us a video of some pallets on fire, then we went in the yard, he set some fires and we put them out. An hour tops and putting out the fires was getting paid to have fun.
