these fruits dojnt ripen after picking so you need to be careful


Apples, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, citrus, grapes, pineapples, pomegranate, raspberries, strawberries, and watermelon.

They may not ripen, but they only have a 'shelf life' of less than a week.

I don't use fennel that often but what my local greengrocer sells perfectly acceptable - I buy it for its aniseed flavour.

As for onions, I only buy red onions, which are 'sweeter' than white ones.

celery is a good veg. makes great soup

Don't like it, my mother used to put it in stews, used to eat round it like when you put a pill in the cat's food.

I like celery, but sometimes it can be 'stringy' which you can't tell till you eat it, and by then it's too late.
