believe they have twin 12" woofers, and supposed to be pretty good.
Very serious prices for 800 ohm Philips AD9710 drive units being asked these days.

Glad I got myself a pair of the regular 8 ohm units before they too go sky high. As they will, prices are zooming!
I've got a pair of the 3 way versions of these in my garage. They don't work of course. My mate (who's in the trade) had a look at them but said access is so bad in the back of them that it was uneconomical to try to repair them and sadly, I'm not clever enough.

Gorgeous speakers, very unusual.
The tweeter housing is a real thing of beauty.
If you think badges are important

Surprised if its not over 600 at finish...he mentions 500 insurance
Some nice unused items here! I was tempted with the Heybrook TT2 but I must resist!

I would cos it will probably get shipped in that box that seems to be missing its internal packing
Lol he's just told me £400 for the turntable
I wonder how much this will go for?

And here's the elusive 940. Not many of these made as there was not a lot of call for 162/3 capability

Not sure what the seller means when he says the deck is missing the platter. According to the photos both the main platter and the slip platter are there. Cosmetically it's not too good, but just needs a good clean.
I paid ~ £2K for mine; a late model complete with TSD15 sfl cartridge and new idler as well as a custom plinth and full set of leads (Siemens to XLR). It came from a seller in Hungary.
A UK dealer put up one of these for sale about 10 years ago (about the same time I bought my 930). From memory think he wanted quite a bit for it, but I don't remember if it included an arm and cartridge. Nor do I know what condition it was in.
As you say there is little call for 16 2/3 rpm. Were I to find any such recordings I suppose I could always play them on my Thorens TD 124.
I've never used an EMT (or a TD124 come to think of it). They must have something about them I guess. I like the look though, but then I like the way most proper vintage equipment looks.
Don't you find it a bit odd all this gear bought new but never used!
just a bit, some of it is still sealed apparently, now if i had bought some stuff the least i would do is open the boxes even if it was going straight up in the loft for 30 years!
& that some of the packing is missing, & that the speaker foam grill is Knackered! i know full well that those Castle unit foams do not deteriorate stored in a box..
He's now put up the TT2 as a buy now @ £300+£60 post.
Edit! It's now Been sold
'No Nuts' cartridge. It's a Gelding (apparently) :).

Leak 2075 speakers. I still have a huge fondness for these!

Reminds me - I must get my 3090s up and running...
I reckon they date from the period when Leak were marketing rebadged Rotel electronics. But they may even just about date back to your 2000 series gear Grant.
cheers Geoff
Scruffy Tannoy HPD295A Eatons in Nottinghamshire. Drive units could be good. Will they be a bargain?

At that point, Leak were part of Rank and they had no strategy when it came to matching their range, speakers had been handed, more or less to Wharfedale and electronics, as has been mentioned were often rebadged Rotel or developed by them. As I recall there was little in the way of cross pollination, from teams whose resented being part of Rank and resented having to prop up the hollowed out Leak company. A bad time for three proud british HiFi brands, Rank really were rank. This is my personal opinion, says the man who is aware of libel law.
Thanks all. I thought they looked out of sorts for early 70s. Yes the rank link was not great I believe. Was just interested. Paul seems to have the info spot on from what I can see.
I've got some parts in order so when put together and assuming they don't explode I will run them first with a set of full range. The celestions I think.

Great Price!
That said; the 10's were unfortunately the 'bungled' DC's.
Much less than expected bass and the incredible (what were they thinking?)
Mismatch of Lf Voice coil with the Pepperpot horn.. significantly Messed the Crossover transition.
So iffy bass and odd midrange effects ?
Not ideal and it certainly let the Side down
