Aye, that's it in a wanner. It'll be an all-day shot, as it takes an hour and a half to get there, the same back, and I suspect we'll be in The Diskery for a 'wee while'... :eyebrows:

Marco is right about sparkbrook for curry houses, theres also another musical
experience to be had, which is another vinyl shop within walking distence from the diskery,which is known as the musical exchange.this shop also
has seconhand vinyl.

I quite like La Boite Musique in Brussels. Like into a different world. And we get some amazing records including some mint 10 inch pressings of Kathleen Ferrier from the local charity shops.

The Diskery is unique. Ages since I last went there. They use to have ash trays perched on top of the records. I expect the smoking ban put paid to that. The Music Exchange up the road is overpriced and low in quality in my opinion unless it has improved. For new records Swordfish are still going in Birmingham Centre.

This was posted elsewhere so I downloaded it and yesterday it cost me fifty quid in a Record Shop in the West End I didn't know was there!
There is another shop BM Music in D'Arblay street, just off Wardour Street in SOHO that I must have been past a dozen times!
Not your run of the mill place either. Really out in left field. Don't know what you would classify the shop as but some fabulous Funk/Trance/Techno
Need to spend some time there. They have at least half a dozen 1210's all set up and it is a matter of treat it like it's yours.

I go to the Diskery now and then, but a lot of their stock has been there for years and is a bit tatty, Music + Video Exchange is just up the road, and there are bargains to be had there, their pricing policy seem rather random! Hard To Find records is pretty close to there too, mostly dance music and they also specialise in DJ equipment etc.
If you're in the brum area, you have to try Polar Bear records in Kings Heath, they specialise in prog, death metal and krautrock, but they have bits and bobs of folk and ambient etc
