They are definitely a bit special in my view. Better than any of the contemporary KEF 'Reference' models of the time. Online user opinions suggest I'm not the only one who thinks so. Good ones getting scarce now and prices are on the up!Quote:

I had the Cadenzas for a while, a friend has them now and they are just outstanding in his open plan house, you'd think he'd paid thousands for them.
Although if KEF have ever done a properly bad speaker I can't think of it. Even those little Eggs were good.
The Cadenzas were the forerunner to the Reference 104 and 104AB, which in turn led to the Calinda, another speaker that has yet to receive proper recognition. They were pretty decent. I never quite came to terms with the 'rubbery' bass from the ABR in the Cadenza and 104s, but I think it was better controlled in the Calinda.Quote:

Well the Monitor Audio R852 MD speakers were collected by the new owner today. He seemed rather chuffed.
I have slightly mixed feelings, as they were sounding pretty damn good on some Christine Collister and K D Lang this morning. Female vocals suited them well.
