Damn, that didn't work! Please ignore... Or if anyone can be bothered, it's a pair of MA BR1 speakers on Ebay at about 60 quid, with veneer peeling on one. I wanted to know if that would be fixable or should I just avoid.

Yeah, pretty grim eh? Anyway, decided not to bother - I'm currently trying to save for a new stylus for my 2m Black cart (which has about 500 hrs on it), and this what happens, my plan gets derailed by other stuff I really don't need. I am the world's worst saver :(
That's not veneer. It's vinyl.
Once that starts lifting there's no way back really. It all has to come off and real wood veneer used instead, which invariably never happens as vinyl is usually used on cheap speakers that are not really worth the bother.
