Sergio Fiorentino - 'Fiorentino Edition IX' (works by Cesar Franck)

Possibly my favourite pianist.
As far as I know the last "real" Joyce Hatto recordings were those of the Bax Sonatas and the Bax Symphonic Variations with Vernon Handley. I can personally vouch for the later as I attended the concert before the recording, and unless she had a body double who could play the piano . . . :eyebrows:
Well, I don't think we should rule it out... ;)
The situation with Fiorentino is further complicated by the fact that various early recordings were issued under pseudonyms, such as 'Paul Procopolis'
Oh yes - Paul Procopolis!
All this reminds me - there was a BBC drama about Joyce Hatto, written, if I recall, by Victoria Wood . . .
It makes you wonder what else goes on behind the closed doors of the record industry . . .
Edit: reading the Wikipedia entry on the Hatto fraud, it seems that Concert Artists released some "Fiorentino" discs that weren't by him, so his discs weren't being passed off as Hatto's.
