Reminds me I was at school with a youth who lived on 'Primrose Lane'. If anyone asked him the name of his street he used to lie.
When I was a kid we used to go to Shanklin for a week in the summer, I loved it and even now I remember the hotel so well. It was a white manor house style building with huge gardens and a full sized snooker table. Many, many years later I became friends with a guy who came from the IOW and after I mentioned my childhood holidays it turned out that unbelievably his dad owned that very hotel around the time we went there in the early 70s. I never spoke of it, and neither did they (probably embarrassed). It was a horrible time, gave me a feeling of dread, but certainly did the trick. Might not work for everyone but surely more effective than having teachers intervene.
Most bullying these days seems to happen via social media, not sure what the answer is with that.
