The movie, which was shot in Technicolor, was filmed in Death Valley, Valley of Fire and around Coachella Valley in California. The rail scenes were filmed on Kaiser Steel's Eagle Mountain Railroad. The steam locomotive seen in the movie currently resides on the Heber Valley Railroad.

During filming, the cast and crew stayed in Las Vegas. Actor Woody Strode wrote in his memoirs that he and Marvin got into a lot of pranks, on one occasion shooting an arrow into Vegas Vic, the famous smiling cowboy neon sign outside The Pioneer Club.

Two Mules for Sister Sara, 1970. Directed by Don Siegel and starring Shirley MacLaine and Clint Eastwood . (She got top billing).

Carrol Case sold the screenplay to Martin Rackin, who had Albert Maltz, also living in Mexico, rewrite the story. Maltz's version had Clint Eastwood playing a soldier of fortune for the Juaristas and Shirley MacLaine playing a revolutionary prostitute now set during the French intervention in Mexico. The film saw Eastwood embody the tall mysterious stranger once more, unshaven, wearing a serape-like vest and smoking a cigar and the film score was composed by Ennio Morricone. Although the film had Leonesque dirty Hispanic villains, the film was considerably less crude and more sardonic than those of Leone.

It made a modest profit.

Another classic now with M*A*S*H, 1970. directed by Robert Altman and stars Donald Sutherland, Tom Skerritt, and Elliott Gould, with Sally Kellerman, Robert Duvall, René Auberjonois, Gary Burghoff, Roger Bowen, Michael Murphy, and in his film debut, professional football player Fred Williamson.

with a budget of $3m, it grossed over $80m, making it the 3rd highed of the year.

Porridge, 1979. includes one of the last appearances by Richard Beckinsale, the actor who played Godber. He died in March 1979, a few weeks after its completion.

The film was one of the more popular of 1979 at the British box office, grossing more than 16 million pounds in the UK from a budget of only £250k.

that depends on my mobility barry. im pretty much immobile at moment having smashed my good leg. 4/5 a day plus when in bed i may watch more if i cant sleep.( pain can cause sleepless nights. )
