We should really make our own bread, but simply don't have the time, given all the other things we make from scratch already. I also love a (proper) French baguette, but most of the ones sold here in supermarkets are rather sad examples of such, and but a pale imitation of the real thing.
I always laugh at the "artisan bread" thing, because it's only considered here as such. In Europe, it's just NORMAL bread, as no-one eats the prepackaged sliced shite we have here!;)
