I'm scared you're going to put the seller over on the Wam off with this screenshot!

Haaha. I was joking but I did laugh when I noticed you'd removed the pic!

Vintage Decca cartridge asking prices still on the up. Mk.II at £375. Looks decent though.

A couple of years ago this would have fetched £50!
No offence and hope is not inappropriate and allowed here
I've just spotted this great DIY BT speaker on eBay.
Who would like to grab a bargain?
:doh::stalks:

Rectangular JR 149 speakers (?) going for a song!! Less than an hour to go. Collect from Somerset.

Videoton Minimax speakers at a ludicrous £225 asking price. Last pair I had from a boot sale cost me £8!

Here we go again.
Starting low. Looks to have a saggy CW so not quite a minter.
It must be ok then as it's got "perfect sound"... bargain..
The sale is nothing to do with me, I just happen to own a pair and love them.

Perhaps not to everybody's taste particularly the aesthetic but hey they do sound good and at this price are probably a bargain.
Indeed, Andy. Gorgeous things, and a bit of a Billy Bargain, if you ask me! Especially for anyone wanting a 'proper' pair of Tannoys... Quite simply, for £3k, no modern speakers would get *anywhere near* to achieving what those GRFs can do with music :nono:
Marco.
That is a very reasonable price especially as they seem to be in showroom condition.
Indeed, the seller is selling himself WAY short, IMO, most likely to encourage a UK sale and collection in person. He'd more likely get double that from a Jap buyer on ebay, but then would have the not inconsiderable task of trying to get them there in one piece....
Marco.
If they didn't look absolutely hideous and the wife would consequently have them in the lounge (she won't), I'd be in the car on the way to Essex:D
No, sorry, I'd be in a hired transit:)
Seller looks like a nice chap
I think they look great in a 'nouveau retro' sort of way. Proper traditional Tannoy look about them!
Agreed, Geoff!

Not hifi I know , I bought this torch on Ebay the other day and it's very good VFM indeed .
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3000Lm-XM-...8AAOSwSdZWc3X4
It comes in it's own plastic box . Also included is 2 rechargeable Li-on batteries and a little cradle which holds 3 AAA batteries . It also comes with a mains box for the Li-on batteries .
Also included are a wallwart charger and a car charger . Both chargers can also be plugged in to the torch directly for charging on the go .
The body of the torch is quite robust aluminium and it's claimed to be water resistant . The beam can be adjusted and the torch has 5 different settings . On the highest setting the light this thing gives off is excellent . I'm not an expert in these things , however this torch would certainly give me all the light needed in most situations . Good VFM methinks .
Ordered one of thise brian
Nice one chaps . These are pretty good value IMO:)
Radford MA25 a pair: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-Radfo...r/371566855418
Would go nicely with the above!
Vintage 12" Lafayette dual concentric (coaxial) speaker units. Made by Goodmans!! Could be a bargain.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1219139448...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
According to the seller they are "dual concentric 3 way". My PC just went bang trying to figure that one out. :)
nice.. they will sound decent i think. Probably go for silly money though
Dual concentric 3 way! lol!
Nice though.

Must be a bargain based on recent sales
Re the torch. More like 850 lumens once driver and circuit loses have been factored in.
They are co-axial 3 way - I suspect that is what the seller meant to write.
But who knows.
Think he was comparing them to dual concentrics in that the drivers are stacked within the main one. Just doesnt read too well.
These don't come up for sale very often. Very tempted.

If you look at this photo of the Goodmans Triaxiom 212C, all becomes clear. They were just a rebadged variant for Lafayette.

Still not true 'three way' though, seeing as the tweeter cone is just an extension of the main cone and not a separate driver.
