It occurs to me that I haven't watched 'Mulholland Falls' for years either, that was a decent movie too. I'll dig both out and watch them.

Saw it at my film club, shortly after it was released. Couldn't make head nor tail of it - and have to say I didn't enjoy it. Ought to give it another go, but not sure I can be bothered.Quote:

Production censors objected to several aspects of the original script, which included the two characters cohabiting without the formality of marriage (as in the book) and some changes were made before the film was completed.[12] Another change followed the casting of Bogart; his character's lines in the original screenplay were rendered with a thick Cockney dialect but the script had to be completely rewritten because the actor was unwilling to attempt it. The rewrite made the character Canadian.
