70's we went to spain mostly if out of country. I was into sangria lol.

Cool... I was drinking Kronenbourg and Birra Moretti, from about the age of 12, although not in any large quantity. Just the odd glass with a meal, which is the continental way :)

Harpic we used to call it, after Harpic Bleachmatic. They used to sell it on the trains for a long time, in those dinky little cans. It wasn't the worst thing ever I suppose.

The first beer I ever drank was McEwan's Export; a can smuggled on to a school trip that involved going round the Mersey estuary on a boat. It tasted shite (the beer, not the Mersey, though I don't suppose that tastes very nice either).

Beer was meant to taste shite so kids wouldn't drink it

my brother was into real ale for a while but still liked export too. I never got on with it personally although with a splash of lemonade it was ok:sofa:
He liked Theakstons best bitter too in the big bottles
