Nice one Grant, classy! Neat collection.
A few years back I was into watches in a big way, even learning to do basic none complication watch servicing and repair but it started to get out of hand, too many watches and too much cash outlay! I loved working on vintage Longines watches, they made some of the best watches available in their day and are a joy. This Conquest I bought off eBay, it was in a right state but I managed to fully refurbish it and get it back into running order...still one of my favourites today.

I take it the red thing is the hrs marker, or am I way off.
Been cataloguing my few watches on an American watch site. Seems all they do serial no wise.
Although Seth Thomas info is hard to come by in sure I have the date for this one somewhere.
Although it has a badly repaired dial it's still fairly rare, and does work although mainspring is stiff. It was replaced but I thi g the guy made a cock of it. Lol
It's still a nice watch and feels good in the handhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ece804016a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6567b6ba5b.jpg
My Illinois now.
This is a size 12s. Nice movement and pretty gold filled case from about 1926 I think. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...572fed6376.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...896d7a1b15.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d713d4b34b.jpg
My Hamilton 669 traffic special. This is a Swiss re issue from 50's.
No serial no as was their way. Its on the case which is marked Hamilton too.
Great watch tho and was my daily wear for years.
Have to say the tolerances on the case screw is superb compared to the usual American pockets https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b1ec6aa7a5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a53c2af63f.jpg
That’s a fine collection Grant. Oldest watch I’ve got is Dad’s gold ‘Zenta’. I recall him having the mainspring replaced, it was some time later he noticed that the gold winder was no longer gold [emoji853]

Yes I know what it’s trying to be but most divers watches look similar anyway. Very impressed with this for the price, decent bracelet with screws rather than push pins, good power reserve & timekeeping seems just about spot on.

Thank you, Rich! I have it since 2005. Just changing the leather straps - 3 times so far. Here is a better picture with the phase.

Letting the side down Ivo ;)
Seriously though 4 is probably as many as anyone would really need, couple of nice 'sports' models & a couple of 'dress' watches (perhaps one stainless, one gold).
I do try to work on the basis of one in one out so for every new watch I buy I sell one I've done with (with some of my older Seikos I made a profit on each one. Also if I see a watch on ebay I know is underpriced I buy it then relist it at a slightly later date with a starting price that makes me a little bit of bunce, often they go for a bit more).
My other half thinks I'm a little bit obsessional about watches & is worried this is linked to the meds I take for a neurological condition I have (obsessive behaviour is a known side effect). That might be so but looking at the balance sheet I'm only a little down so no harm done :)

seriusly cheap functional and small
does everthing I want eg tells me the time and is a reasonable size
I cant do analogue watches as it takes me ages to work out what time it is really get confused by the ones with three fingers, cant deny that they look realy nice
Nice watch Gaz.
I've almost pulled the trigger on the auto version of the Mondaine on a couple of occasions but ultimately decided it was a bit overpriced.
Really like that one, the white dial sets off the bracelet really well.
Square too, which is never a bad thing.
Some other nice variants too...
