....anyone owned a Rock? (I seem to recall Messieur Montesquieu having a De luxe one?) I always loved the engineered concept of anchoring the front end -of the arm.
Preferred it to a Linn.

Glad you are enjoying the G99 Mike.
How do you think the L75's compare once they are in decent plinths?
Do you have a preference when it comes to the G.99 and G.88?

The SP-10 is a superb deck, no doubt, and a total joy to use but the quality of bass and harmonics reproduction / tonality just gave the G99 the edge. I should mention that my current Toshiba SR-370 is every bit as involving as my G99 was. It's a turntable that gets overlooked by many.

Yes, pleased to say that I really like the G99. Oddly, I prefer it without the Tenuto, using just a rubber mat and Achromat. I thought the Tenuto on the SP-10 made a significant difference.

I've had GL75's in heavy slate, heavy wood and composite plinths and never got one to sound 'right', good, but always a little unrefined.

I've never owned a G88, so can't comment.

I did spend a fair bit of time looking for a nice condition SR-370 but gave up in the end.
