I have one, called My Nation Underground, with the single Charlotte Anne on it. Quite good as I remember, but when I played it a while ago it was really crackly, despite not being played much. I don't know why that happens with some records, while others get played to death and remain in good shape :scratch:Quote:

I have all the Tracy Chapman albums apart from her most recent two and she never managed to eclipse her debut in my opinion, it’s a stunner.
Dire Straits I would probably go with Love Over Gold as my favourite, mainly because Private Investigations is my favourite track of theirs. Brothers in Arms is of fours an all time classic, but I much prefer side 2, Walk of Life gets on my nerves and Money For Nothing I played so much when it came out it kind of got done to death - but I do like all of their output, properly Dad rock.
I admit to not owning a single Dire Straits Album, although I do know a few of their songs. Which Album would you suggest as an intro ?Quote:

Re Electric Wizard's Dopethrone - I'm on the fence with this. Sometimes I think it's great, other times I think they're just punks who played slow and did a few naughty things that helped to give the album a bit of a legend. I've noticed that my perception of it alters depending how much beer I've had.

Overall really good, even from first play I know it'll be a regular :) Only disappointment is that "Love Story" lacks the vocals of the single (which was actually called "Love Story vs, Finally"). So now I'm determined to get a copy of the single, which isn't particularly cheap. I have just put a bid on Ebay, I'll find out later if I was successful. I'm now like a dog with a bone, and it's all Alex's fault!
