3 - a Pro-Ject RPM4 currently the only one in use in the spare “music” room, my Garrard 401 is “resting” although plans afoot to sneak it into the living room, and my Rega Planar 3 which was in daughter’s room developed a fault where it often starts backwards(!) and needs fettling.
Just one these days, mint SL1200 Mk2 but not in use.
Four:
3 x Thorens TD124/II plus an EMT 930st,
With which I can use 10 pickup arms:
EMT 929 with EMT TSD cartridges
Breuer Dynamic 5A
Brinkmann 10.5
Ikeda modified Ortofon 309i arm with Ikeda 9C 'cantileverless' moving coil cartridge.
Infinity 'Black Widow' carbon fibre arm
SME M2-12R
SME 3012
SME 3009/II
SME 3009/II (Improved) HE
Decca ffss with Decca Mk.III cartridge.
A bit OTT I know, but worse still I have about 40 cartridges, yet I mostly play CDs now.
Crikey Barry, that is an impressive inventory.
It's my birthday soon :eyebrows:
EDIT:
Actually that might have been too subtle, I meant to say it's my birthday soon and if you feel you have one too many TD124's I'd be happy to help out :)
Daily use:
Modified Townshend Elite Rock II
LP12 (Valhalla)
Dry dock:
Garrard 401
Modified Lenco L75
Thorens TD150 Mk1
I think it's fairly harmless.
I only have one, my modified SL1200, but have always fancied a 2nd, but that complicates things immensely, starting with which turntable would go well with an SL1200?
Hey boy.... Hey girl....
I have far, far too many.
In regular use: Michell Orbe/SME IV, Garrard 301/SME M2-12R, Roksan Xerxes 10/RB-2000.
On loan to a family member Technics SL-1210/RB-600
Needing attention, but plan to sort out: 2 x Garrard 401, TD-124, Ariston RD 90, Goldring G-99.
Assorted decks I need to do something with:
Garrard 4hf
Garrard SP25 IV mint in box.
Thorens 150s and 160s
Goldring Lencos GL75s GL78, possibly a 70.
Technics SL-1210
Roksan Xerxes
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon.
A R Sugden Connoisseur
Duals, mostly 505s
Rotel RP 850
Cannibalised for parts, Pioneer PL-12s, Rega Planar 3s.
There's probably at least another dozen lower-end Japanese decks buried in the loft.
In my defence, thirty or forty years ago you could pick up decks for next to nothing at boot sales, and others have come along with record collections.
