The electronics and sources part of my system:
Top shelf, left to right: Miyajima ETR-STEREO SUT; Quad FM4 tuner, TEAC UD-H01 USB audio DAC.
Underneath, top to bottom: Mark Levinson ML-10A preamplifier (used as a phonostage); Mark Levinson No. 28 preamplifier, Mark Levinson No. 390S CD Processor.
To the right, from top to bottom: balanced/unbalanced (and vice versa) converter; Quad 405/II power amplifier (not used), power supply for the Levinson 28 preamplifier.

Actually it was an excuse to learn how to cut and paste photos into threads and posts on AoS. I have a new laptop which uses Windows 11, and what used to be a straightforward procedure is now much more protracted exercise.
In the past I used a digital camera, but now it is much easier, if not essential, to use my smartphone to take the pictures, which I can down load onto my laptop. (The optics of the phone are better than the camera, so it takes better photos.)
Always liked that older Mark Levinson kit.
I would have to get a rack or something, having it all piled like that I couldn't handle.

It's a simple matter of history. The ML10A preamp was the first I bought and which I now use just as a phono stage . The second one shown was bought as I like to use balanced-line (XLR) connections; my mono power amplifiers are positioned directly behind each speaker and connected by balanced line interconnects (running under the floor) back the preamp. My CDP has balanced outputs as does my DAC, so that is another reason for the second preamp.Quote:

What are the power amps?
Quite a Levinson fan then? Always liked there gear as it was very well built and although expensive quality equipment. Are your power amps Levinson too?Quote:

They have now been retired and replaced with a pair of Quad 510 amplifiers, which sound just as good to my ears and are physically smaller. I also have a pair of Quad 405-2 amplifiers which have been 'monoblocked', upgraded to Keith Snook level 3, modified for a balanced input and with improved power supplies and speaker protection circuits.
