New phono cable for 1210
Hi all,
The phono cable on my technics is knackered. A patch up job didn't work for long and unfortunately the break is too far up to just snip and add some new plugs.
Any recommendations for a replacement? I was about to just by any old half decent cable but then thought, will it fit into the wee black tension box thing and do I need to think about capacitance too? Looking to buy something I can just snip in half and use the rest for another deck.
I presume I should also do the earth while I'm in there. Will any wire do for that? Also, what else should I be looking to do while I've got it apart? Pitch calibration? Any tips will be much appreciated!
Cheers

MOGAMI NEGLEX W3106 should fit.
Either that, or fit an RCA adapter to allow you to change the cable easily.

Thanks for the reply.
I should've said, I was thinking about a (fairly inexpensive) cable with moulded phono plugs. Are there any bargains out there that would fit the bill?
An rca jack would be great but the deck sits in a wooden plinth so that might be more of a hassle than it's worth.

Are you happy soldering?
If you want one with moulded plugs, you will need to solder the connections on to the PCB in the base of the arm.

Yes, I presumed I'd have to do that anyway. I just thought buying a ready made phono cable would save on more soldering at the other end. Doesn't have to be moulded come to think of it.

Inreplaced my cable with Mogami 2528.
Ignore the previous model. I made a mistake.
The 2528 fits in the cable clamp.
