Conspicuous consumerism, in the midst of an economic turn down greater than the world has known for 80 odd years, in world in which a third of all children go to sleep hungry every night, smacks of more than mere vulgarity it is avarice bordering on the edge of immorality, not to mention pornographic corruption.
GIMME SUMMORE
:lolsign::lolsign:
I would build my own
It would use the VPI supper platter with bearing £1000 with the Verus drive £1500 a slate plinth £250 with the Terminator arm £550 and Decca london Cartridge £1000 it would look a bit like this apart from the platter
http://www.trans-fi.com/orberus.htm
If I could source a different platter and bearing then the cost might come down
Its a simple design and could do in stages perhaps get a motor first then when funds can afford go for the Verus
Its nice to dream!
Still a visit to Marco might change all that
I'm not greedy, any of the turntables would be fine! If I had to choose, the Davinci 3 arm jobby with a Manley Steelhead preamp please!
no your all wrong... sell your crappy sl1210 davinci blan blah crap
this is what you want:

Dave,
Presuming a lottery win, the only one I'd entertain there is the Continuum. It's the only T/T amongst that selection I feel is genuninely innovative in terms of engineering and technology :)
I bet it'd sound the best, too - and the others look positively hideous!

Hamish, it's probably better than a Roksan, eh? :eyebrows:Quote:
