After about 6 months of no use the heating fired up , nice warm radiators :eyebrows:
Every year I think " This year will be new boiler year " but the old girl kicks into life once again :)
Now off again as its not cold enough yet :D

As long as you have it serviced annually the "old girl" should keep going. The only advantage with a new boiler would be the replacement will be far more efficient, so fuel bills will be lower.
My heating system came on this morning, but the thermostat is set to 24 degC.
Just had a bit of work done on mine, boiler expansion tank and sensor probes replaced. I'm lucky as my flat is relatively new and meets current insulation and efficiency standards. Even in cold weather the heating doesn't come on much and warms the place up quickly, I have it set to 21 degrees.
My last place had electric storage heaters, surely the most misnamed heating apparatus going.
21 / 24 degrees.
I have mine at 16 degrees even in deepest winter :)
16 degrees? That's what I turn mine down to when we have visitors and it's time for them to leave. If that doesn't work I play 'Hot Rats' by Frank Zappa then leave the room to 'do something' in the garage. Never fails!
I have a very narrow range of temperature tolerance. In winter my feet and hands turn to blocks of ice and don't thaw out till June, then any nice sunny weather makes my skin prickle and itch. I think I need a new thermostat.
Mrs. Pony hates it, and gets quite angry When 'Willie The Pimp' comes on. I don't understand why.
I love Frank's playing but I seem to be in a minority of one with that.
