  1. Morning Stephen,

I have owned the NJC headphone amp and Dac, both being extremely well made, reasonably priced a d excellent customer service.
I've only used cheap Dacs prior to picking up the NJC secondhand and to be honest, whilst it did sound better than anything I had owned previously, I was slightly disappointed and soon moved it on.
If I was looking for a Dac again, I'd certainly consider one. It's a shame they don't allow a home demo or have a return option.

    Cheers,

    Bill

    Hello Bourneendboy,
Forgive me for contacting you directly.
I noted your post about the NJC Dac, which you have owned:
I am a confirmed 'Redbook Luddite' and my (frustrating) experience has been that 'modern' dacs demand that I buy lots of functions that are superfluous to me.
(all that USB & 'streaming' stuff, about which they are unduly enthused...!)
I have two fine cd transports and a very large classical/jazz CD collection which (along with an LP collection of similar size) is quite 'enough'...
My recent retirement has the prospect of allowing me more listening time, and the 'build quality' of the NJC dac is appealing...
...yet I know that I cannot 'audition' before purchase.
Might I ask you for your thoughts upon this Dac, please?
I am gratetul for your time,
    With good wishes,
    Stephen.
