Name:

Biography::
Music has been a huge part of my life since listening to 78's of The Everley Brothers, Alma Cogan as a child.
Purchased my first hifi in 1970 when I started work AR turntable with sure cartridge, B&O amp and kit speakers.
Since then I have seen an endless procession of equipment in search of the holy grail.
Epiphany moment was when I purchased Leak stereo 20 in the early nineties to play with Ha, Ha.
It promptly blew away my high end mono locks and produced music not prestige sound etched to the nnnth degree but Music.
So if this is how good a cheap valve amp from 1960 sounded what does the expensive valve gear sound like?
The next 15 years saw a steady procession of some highly regarded British valve amps. Every time I plugged the Leak back in there it was 'magic' .
I fell on difficult times and it all was sold. The plus side to this meant that I now had to start from scratch again.
Being much older and wiser lol second hand gear only or DIY
The Lenco forum was discovered and a small forest converted to a plinth. Damn it was better than any of the serious money turntables owned in the past. If this was so good what else could be lurking in DIY audio?
Open baffles looked interesting and easy to build, then I spotted a man selling a pair at a very reasonable price. He was kind enough to invite me to listen to them Thankyou Ian Both for the listening but more importantly the friendly welcome and introduction to some very nice fellow Audioholics.
The Open Baffles have evolved and I am in the process of a final version DON'T LAUGH.
