EMI speakers with aluminium base sound wonderful with female vocals, jazz, classical music, sadly the bass is not their strength, it's not tight enough somewhere below 100-120Hz. In my opinion it is because of the high Qts >0.8 - it might be because the ferrite magnet lost the initial magnetic field that makes Qes (and in consequence Qts) higher - of the speaker combined with closed box gives Qtc much too high than it should be. Another thing is that the upper suspension is made of material that is prone to change stiffness with the temperature. Did you have a chance to measure T/S parameters? Hi, these are the B&W modified versions as used in the the early models of the P & DM ranges. I also have the original B&W speakers with the drivers installed, they are very underrated speakers. All the best, Martin
