Dave's Stuff

Hi all..

Myself and Darrell have made a start in tidying Dave H's garage and boxing
things together like tools and electronic parts etc. It is a mammoth task...

We are going to start and sell some of Dave's kit off at what is a fair
market price on here, Marco's forum, but any of Dave's friends will get first
refusal, again at fair market price. All monies go to Mavis, his wife.

Some of the home made stuff may only sell at parts cost if it is a bit
scruffy but anything DIY finished in a nice case should sell for a little more
than parts as my own usually does so Dave's should also. Just trying to get a fair price,
not necessary top dollar but not give-a-way for someone else to make a killing.

Either me or Darrell (ourdogmax) will list stuff in the private classified.
Preference will be given to those who can collect or who can get someone
to collect for them if the items are big / heavy as packing and posting takes us longer but if it comes to that we will.

Will start with a few larger speakers.

Wharfedale Full range speakers, high efficiency. Not sure of the
driver(s) as Dave never took them apart.

£25 which is what Dave paid. Bargain price and could be a good buy.

Vintage Goodmans 3-way horn speakers. These have been built by Dave to the original 1950's design and drawings. Midax horns mid-range, horn tweeter. Not sure on the bass driver fitted. Original wooden goodmans crossover's with new caps fitted. I went with him when he ordered the wood to be cut for these.

They are maybe worth more stripped down as drivers and cross-over but if someone can finish them and use them that would be great. Need leatherette on the front and veneer to complete, that's all. They have mid and treble step controls on the rear.

26 x 18 x 34 inch high so like a pair of Tannoy's, like Marco's in size.
I think these are a bargain price to a speaker builder to be honest. Almost finished. £300 ** SOLD **

Wharfedale E70's, last pair sold for £300 on ebay ( 270711961987 )
so around £250. Good condition.

BBC LS5 Monitor floor-standers, I think these are similar to Spendor BC1's,
these are sadly the last speakers Dave bought. He paid £250 so would
hope the same back. Cosmetically need a refurb on cabinets.
Dave had started with wood filler. They now need sanding and veneer or some covering.
Classic BBC sound. Large floor standers and again maybe worth more in drive units to a builder.

David, did Dave have any GEC KT88 valves? According to Ian, he had some in his Mr Liang, or something. If so, and they're available, I'd be interested in them - cheers! :cool:

They are not in the Mr liang but those tubes belong to someone (Emile) else anyhow. He may sell them as he was not using them.

BTW... Mr Liang will be up for sale soon but it is not an ordinary Liang 845. It has been modified to run on GM70 tubes with a new circuit and extra transformer fitted.

Ah, ok, mate... Ian did say that they belonged to someone else - Emile, that's it, and he probably wouldn't mind letting them go...

Perhaps ask him for me, and if that's the case, PM me and let me know how much he wants for them?
