So I stumbled across this forum while searching out various views on amps over the last month or so, needing to get a new one to fit in my new sideboard and it needed to be small form factor. Long obsessive story of many weeks research, I bought a Cyrus One only for it not to work. Have since just won an auction for a Teac AH-500i amp which should arrive this week. Thanks to a thread on here that amp was put on my shortlist.
I've mainly registered to help someone out on here who's after a particular CD I noticed on a thread. But while I'm here I'll intro myself. A mere 32 years old. Current setup is a Technics amp, B&W 601 S3 speakers with my Mac directly connected to the amp for music. Also, being a DJ of 17 years (christ, it's really been that long!) I've got 2 SL1210s purchased in 1997. No mods, Ortofon Pro S carts at the mo however I am looking at something like the Grado Prestige to plonk onto one for more listening pleasure.
Not a fussy listener, just like things to sound quite nice. This forum seems a decent place with people liking musically what I'd never expect from a forum like this. D&B, Hybrid, Trentemoller, etc. Refreshing to see such a wide ranging musical fanbase. Myself, very wide ranging from Kraftwerk, 808 State, Marillion, Radiohead, through to Ludovico Einaudi, Underworld, Little Dragon and so much more.
Probably won't post much, but I may pop up from time to time. Right now I'm off to help someone buy a CD :)
Cheers!
Matt
