I have for sale a brand new Step up Transformer made by Nick.

It has Sowter 9570 transformers 1 :10 ratio
3 pairs of RCA gold plated sockest from Hi Fi Collective (3rd pair to allow for loading resistors)
Earthing post
In a smart Galaxy case with brushed ali front plate.

Due to an unfortunate communication error it was not made to the spec I needed at the time, so it was never used.

I paid Nick £265 and I will take £250 + postage

I am sure that Nick would be kind enough to answer any questions.

It is a shame that I can't use this step up with my very very low output cartridge, but that does not mean that some one should not have the benefit of this step up transformer made with brand new Sowter tranies nicely put together by Nick.

Yep, its what it says on the tin. A pair of Sowter step ups, in one of these type cases

With decent RCA's on the back (input, output and loading).

Damn, if the ratio had been higher I would have been very interested in Sowters. Good luck with the sale.

... and here's me with a little project case, ready wired with phono's (and a damping/loading circuit already made to solder on the back of the output pair) and no bloomin' transformers.....

Sowters are good, they're local to me and AlexUK and I hope someone buys this step up from you :)

The dimensions are:

13.5cm wide

It is actually a very neat and tidy step up transformer that is crying out to be bought and USED!

Thanks for all the low ball offers, I not that deparate, in fact I am not desparate period!!!!

Ebay starts Saturday night at more than the £230 + postage I asked for here.

I wouldn't say an offer asking you pay the postage is lowball, and it does seem an odd response to then add £50 to the asking price - it wasn't intended as an affront to your manhood.

But good luck anyway.

Tom some one offered me £185 if they collected:lol:

You are not just buying a pair of brand new Sowter transformers, and Nick only charged a very reasonable £35 for buying all the parts and making it for £265.

If I discount Nick's charge then the price is £230, which is what it has been advertised at + postage :).

I have never used it because it was made to the wrong spec for an Audio Note IO1 cartridge. I did give all concerned the output for the IO1 before placing any orders

I will be selling off a complete SP10 set up very soon.

But with respect, I believe Brian Sowter assumed you were using it in front of MC phono stage. And I didnt notice that you had changed the spec of your cartridge from the original request.

I had been trying to help your sale to Tom behind the scene by offering to make up loading plugs for his needs at cost.

Nick

Your help is much appreciated.

I am not attaching blame, just trying to explain to potential buyers why I am selling something that is new and has never been used!

Thankfully the SUT did not cost £'000s so it will eventually find a new home.

Thanks

Roger
