Strange objects

Incense burner? (Assuming the whole is suspended, allowing the two halves to separate hence creating a gap for the smoke to exit.)

Not sure about that as the incense would fall out. It's about 5" in dia.

Oh - I had assumed the links were symmetrically arranged around the perimeter.

5" in diameter? It's obvious then - it's a late Tang dynasty CD carrier! :lol:

You shouldn't have opened that vessal!
It is from the Greek Orthadox faith and used to imprisson a Demonic spirit.
A small amount of Blessed water sometimes with some blessed salt is added and during the Exorcisum it is then placed on the top of the head of the possesed,the Demon is then driven into the vessal and chained closed useing a special rite.(the chains simbalize the rite of binding)
When opened the rite is broken and the demon relesed to torment another person.
That is why there is a white corrosion on the inside,so it has been used.

Careful to watch for:foul oders,problems at or soon after 3:00AM,scracthing sounds,servear changes in mood,spiritual relics missing,disturbed or broken,terrable nightmares and sleep paralysis,un explainable claw marks and bruses,vomiting,head achs and of course looking in the mirror and seeing yourself as dead with all black eyes,seeing other peoples faces as distorted or contorted.
These are early sighns, it only gets worse after that.
