Hi,
got pulled here by the "Caiman" thing ...
2 in the 2 studios I run and one at home with heaphones to get away from childs and wife screams ;-)
I've been in the sound and music industry for the past 20 years in uk and now in Belgium mainly.
My main statement from experience would be about the global chain ...
DAC, amp, speakers ... but mainly room acoustics !
so the best idea is to have the best songs then a right balance between the listening chain knowing that the quality depends on the lower component ...

Thanks for the welcome.
I started in the music industry (recording and mixing) and now moved to post-production for past 15 years. It's quite varied actually: sound-design, recording and mixing commercials (radio and tv), documentaries, putting together tracks for "sound and light" shows and even the full job on a feature film ...
My associate does all the music creation and I take care of all the technical aspect on those jobs.
Of more interest maybe around here is that I've spend a lot of time doing research on building recording studios and having the best soundfield for monitoring what you are doing. I got actually too carried away by acoustics ;-)

Anyway on the music front, I can appreciate anything with emotions and I've been through all sorts of phaze ... rock from the 70', jazz, classic, opera, along time in all the electronic stuff and now back to songs ! I've allways been looking for surprises ;-)

Maybe a last word before changing my forum name from "reader" to "writer", I fight no to fall in the race for the best gear cause I know it never stops ;-)
