Hi everyone,
Does anyone know of a good RT 909 for sale? Mine has just been destroyed by the evil band of couriers.... and i now have a big hole in my system :-(
I will travel to collect (especially after the last experience)
Any leads gratefully received :-)
Desperate Pioneer collector.
Also need a P-D70 :-)

I sold mine a while back. Lovely bit of gear... Wish I'd never sold it now.
Good luck with your search, if I hear or see anything I'll certainly let you know.
Regards
Joe

Hi Joe,
I wished i bought yours! At least i wouldn't have a bent version of the RT-909 sat in my garage....
Half the fun is in the hunting...Apparently
Nice system you have by the way.

Cheers Shaun.
Yeah, mine was a minty one, one of the last made... (kicking ones self again)
Ah well.. You will find one. Don't worry about getting a US version either, the voltage transformers are not very expensive.
Cheers
Joe

Welcome, however.......
AOS requires all new members to make their first post in the welcome section of the forum. While registering this information was clear and the request was made for you to do so.
AOS management takes a dim view, as does the AOS community in general of folks just joining to sell or buy. We feel that putting something into the community first is the right thing to do and we don't like the free selling facility being abused.
Can you pop into the welcome section on your return and tell us about yourself, system and music you like.
Thank you in advance.

Hello Brian.
I'm sorted thanks as I bought my previous RT back but many thanks for replying.
Just out of interest, do you have a price in mind? Condition etc?.. I'm sure someone on here would be interested in this magnificent machine.

All that good olde stuff you have Joe id have though you would have opted for an Idler drive R-R machine?

Yeah but this one has been utterly superb. First class build and very service friendly. The guy at servicesound told me it was a great machine to work on when it was serviced. He actually likes Ferrograph over Studer/Revox.

Hi,
Now I have carried out my obligations to the site correctly ( I think), can I ask you for some advice?
I was thinking of putting my Pioneer RT 909 on ebay, but really dont have a clue on what to ask for.
I've seen them advertised for £600+ but dont know if they sell at that price.
Asking and getting are two different things.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.
All I can say is it is in perfect working order, but is surplus to my needs.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Paul,
I was thinking of putting my Pioneer RT 909 on ebay, but really dont know what to ask for it.
I've seen some really high prices being asked but am not a greedy person.
If you have a figure you would be prepared to pay please let me know.
It would be collection only though.
Best wishes,
Brian

Hi Paul,
Still trying to find my way around here. lol
The Pioneer RT 909 is in full working order and obviously can be seen working before you decide.
I have half a dozen reels of tape with it.
I dont use it and it is a shame to just leave it gathering dust.
As I said in my other reply I dont have a figure in mind and hope you would make a sensible offer.
Look forward to hearing (if I can find your reply LOL).
Best wishes,
Brian
ps I have pics but dont know if you can post them here!

Hello Brian.
What is the condition of the deck?
Has it been rack mounted as this can damage the side peg slots
Has it been serviced?
General conditionm scratches, marks, rust on the back casing?
Pinch roller condition? Are they sticky as they do go sticky in time.
Lights, luminecent displays, microswitches (play, rewind etc) all working well?
Does it come with any reels? (sorry yes.. a dozen)... What makes and how old are the reels?
Just a few things there to look at. As for the price. Mine sold for £950 in the end with 9 new Quantegy tapes inc. 5 GP9's, demag, original reels, fully serviced, spare belt, cleaning kit and in minty condition.
I'd say for a straight nice mint condition unit thats working well without a service £550 - £600 as it's hard to find a very nice example these days. Some do go on ebay for less but that is ebay and prices can fluctuate quite a bit as we all know.

A recent service by someone like Servicesound can definitely add £200+ to the value of a deck like a 909. I have used Servicesound on a couple of occasions and always been very pleased.

Hi Nigel,
I'm in Portsmouth if you are interested.
The Machine is in good working order but hasn't been used for a few years.
I tried it out recently and it works fine.
It is in what I would consider mint condition ie; no scratches no rust, never been mounted and has been covered for the past 18 years.
I put a new drive belt on a few years back to test it out and have run it recently.
Everything works OK, counter screen lights etc.
Has 1 x original Pioneer reel, 4 TDK and 2 Maxell spools and tapes
Regards,
Brian
