Lol... Well I didn't want you to miss out on the hilarity!
Glad you're still doing your music. I loved your old stuff, so here's hoping that yer ambient choons hit the same heights! :)
When you've got some samples, please pop links in the music room, as I'm sure plenty of folks would love to hear your new stuff, not least Snapper and Reid Malenfant (Mark), both of whom are big ambient fans :cool:
Oh, and the sooner you get back to posting again regularly, the better! ;)

Yep, music all ready to flow. I'm right at the start of composing at the moment plus I'm on a learning curve with new software too (Logic Studio) so it may be a while before new stuff emerges, especially as the album will be blended tracks. From a writing perspective it's undertaken as one exercise albeit broken down into separate projects (that must blend perfectly). Then each track is imported into a clean sequence in an audio format and mastered in one take. I've decided to do a live master via the DAC and then the ADC on a CD recorder rather than direct digital. This gives the sound more life and it's proven to work toward a better sound.
Also I'm writing under a new name. After 15 years of writing under 'Filterlab', I decided to go for a change. The album will still be produced under the Filterlab entity, but the new writing title will be:

You heard it here first! The album title is subject to change, but at the moment it's called The Circumvention Of The Tower Of Babel. I've been working on the artwork whilst waiting for the studio equipment to come together. I rejected a lot of the artwork, mostly due to the over-complexity. However, I settled on something very simple. It still needs to be properly redrawn, but I've arrived at this:

Now anyone who knows their Bible will recognise the Tower of Babel and be aware of God's resultant challenge set to man. Also anyone who's ever used Babelfish should really know how the name came about (and I don't mean The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy)! This album will be instrumental and environmental, and aside from the occasional captured voice, there will be no language barrier. The title is a slight misnomer as it's not the tower itself that's circumvented, but the challenge. Weird? A little, but read Genesis 11 and that should answer the question - either that or ask Neil. :)
So, that's where I am. I've been out doing ambience recording, mainly on the London rail network so far, which is particularly good (especially Waterloo station - loads of reverb!), and I'll accumulate more as and when I can. It's all very time consuming!
In the meantime, I'll be popping in occasionally to say hi.
